A close and
In good company
Metta’s vision is to build connections and create a strong sense of community among residents while promoting an active and conscious lifestyle. The neighbourhood will promote ride sharing and easy access to public transit, with the future REM station and bus stops close by.
Quartier Metta will also be home to an abundance of green spaces and parks, which will serve as meeting places for residents to come together and get to know each other while soaking up the peace and beauty of nature.
“Quartier Metta aims to build a community that will capture the full potential of the future. My goal is to break the paradigm of ‘development at any cost,’ successfully bringing all stakeholders together to improve quality of life for all residents and to ultimately contribute to their overall wellbeing and happiness.”
— Jon Morrison, President, BMP DEVCO
A Metta community platform coming soon
Metta is in the process of creating an online platform that will serve as a go-to hub for residents that promotes local businesses and services. Still under construction, the platform will function in one of the following two ways:
1 – A community platform designed exclusively for Metta residents featuring a members-only section with news, events and a dedicated Facebook group.
2 – A Facebook Marketplace-style transactional platform where users can purchase products and/or services from local businesses including:
- Products like fruits, vegetables and flowers
- Services like snow removal, landscaping, home cleaning, pool maintenance, babysitting and activities (cycling, golf, etc.).
Benefits of the platform for residents
- Convenience – the opportunity to purchase products and services from the comfort of home
- Simplicity – one centralized, user-friendly platform with simplified ordering and transactions
- Choice – access to a wide variety of local products and services
- Flexibility – multiple delivery or pick-up options
- Speed – products and services received within 24 hours
- Supporting local – the opportunity to support local businesses and contribute to the local economy
Collaborating with the local community
Marineau vegetable farm is located less than 3 kms from Quartier Metta and will serve as a partner of choice for supplying local, fresh and seasonal produce to residents. This century-old family uses sustainable practices to minimize its environmental footprint and grows a variety of berries including strawberries, raspberries and blueberries, along with seasonal vegetables. In the summer months, people can visit the farm and pick their own fruits.

Soleno is a Quebec-based company that designs, manufactures high-density polyethylene (HDPE) for the control and management of stormwater. Their standardized HDPE pipes, which have a lifespan of over 100 years, are the most durable and environmentally friendly solution for stormwater management. HDPE resists corrosion, abrasion, de-icing salts and vibration, ensuring the durability of the infrastructure. This material has the advantage of being cheaper and having a smaller environmental footprint than concrete. Quartier Metta’s entire sewer system will be designed with Soleno materials.
